Yugioh? What? I just want to play blog tag

Hi blog peeps,

I have just come across the most amusing spam post I think I’ve ever received. Akismet usually does a good job (except when it spams comments by blog contributors) but every now and then I go through and check what has been caught. Imagine my surprise when I receive what appears to be a long letter from some kid to the Yugioh people. Was my post about Yugioh? Nope. Was my post about technology? Nope. It was my post about blog tag. It appears that the idea of this spam message may be to get me to click the yugioh link given in the text. Or maybe it is just some poor misguided kid.  Here’s the message in full. Obviously I’ve removed the kid’s email address. I’m not that kind of person…

yugioh

It is somewhat rambling and illegible so let me share some of the best bits with you…

“Please, please if ur a duelist,a tornament judge, etc plz plz plz plz read my message and pass it on,talk about it with friends, yugioh blogs, etc…or do what u can if intersted into passing one the message, warning others, etc……”

I assure you I am none of those things. Oh, hang on, I might be an etc, I’m a little unclear what being an etc entails, but seeing as this message is on my blog I’m assuming that’s me. Really I’m just a blogger playing blog tag, but anyway, do continue to tell me, at length, about your Yugioh stuff…

“Anyways i belive that if this card comes out(although it might not)……it will be a f**kn awsome card to use but an extreme advantage as well. Thus when one uses it they kinda expect victory and get cooky, prideful, confident, etc and leaving the oponent pissed of,leaving the opponent shiting brick, etc(negative aspects or positive aspects{only is opponent likes a super challenge})”

Um? So what you’re saying is, in response to playing Blog Tag I should what now? Buy some kick-arse Yugioh card that may or may not be released and use it to gain an extreme advantage. That is if anyone will take the challenge and play with me. They may just be “pissed of” and “shiting brick”, however they may enjoy a “super challenge”. This is your response to Blog Tag? Ok then.

“All i have to say is that dont buy this card cauz im not…im not going to lead my deck to become a waste of pure pride in which leads people to evey me,hate to duel me cauz of this card or whatever this card has as a – outcome…all i have to say is power is a bitc@ when one is to cooky, prideful, uses it to win, etc…Thus this card changes the way in which u duel and gives u a different view of dueling…..This is what i think but if this card makes u happy buy it and see the outcomes either good or bad…..”

So in short you are saying I should not buy a Yugioh card because you are not buying it. You are not buying it because you don’t want to seem proud. You do not want people to envy you and hate to duel you. Forgive me if I’m wrong, I actually know nothing about Yugioh apart from what is in this nice little comment on my blog, but it seems to me that the point of a duel would be to win would it not? So if I’m doing this thing then I want my opponent to envy me, hate me and fear me. I will kick their butts. I really want this card now. You’ve totally sold it. Perhaps you have a career in sales. But you told me not to buy this card. Oh wait – you ended the message by changing your mind and saying that I should buy this card if it makes me happy. Oh OK. Cheers and thanks for playing Blog Tag.

WTF is a Yugioh anyway? This thing apparently. Thanks Google.

  1. I scrolled through my spam messages the other day just for fun. Haven’t seen any about obscure card battling games yet, but maybe it is just a matter of time. You could be on the cutting edge of spam. Lucky you!

  2. LOL. Yu gi oh is one of those deck building card games that give more power to people who pay lots of money for better cards. My little brother used to play it.

That is the most rambly spam message ever, and it makes me think it was written by a 12 year old. Awesome. :-D
